Grinder Bikes

Anyone have opinions on the bicycles -- quality and customer service?

(This might be the answer to my single speed prayers.)

Thanks in advance.

I highly recomend Grinderbikes. His conversions are the best way to get started with fixed gear or singlespeed. Jon Grinder built me up a fabulous low-cost fixed gear conversion that I have been riding everyday since January. I ended up with a something very reliable, set up basically exactly how I wanted it (in terms of gears, bar type, brake setup, etc) and I ended up with a really versitile commuter with cool old school name brand components. He's very sincere about getting it set up the way you want and will help you with questions/problems even you've been riding it around for awhile.

I also can't recommend highly enough. First of all, I got a sweet vintage Gitane frame that I would have paid just as much for without all the additional work that Jon did. He was extremely good in the customer service dept., emailing me about every detail and sending pics of each part of the conversion process. When I brought the finished bike to my lbs for a wheel truing, they were impressed with how good the conversion was. Go for it, CJBianco, you'll be very happy.

Wow, that Kuwahara is a steal at $225.

What a great idea for a business.

Thanks for the advice. The Kuwahara is all mine. (Monday. LOL)

(PS -- I've been emailing with Jon @ Grinder Bikes all night. He really is a great person who is more than happy to find the perfect bicycle for the individual rider. And custom tweaks are fine and dandy. Jon really goes out of his way to make the customer happy. Grinder Bikes is a single speed oasis.)
