Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

lacquement cycles??

i just posted this on the roadie forum thinking it would be more likeley to get answered due to the increased traffic but does anyone here know anything about them? i spend all my bikeforums time lurking this forum so i'd be interested in what you guys and girls know too.

all i know is that they were made in oklahoma and i just won one on ebay. it has some damage to it but i plan on doing the repairs myself so it won't become a money pit if it's an unworthy bike. from all i could see though, it seems to be a nice enough bike.

i've been using my motobecane as a singlespeed but have been wanting a geared bike too, aside from my mountain bike. i figure this new bike will serve as a good geared ride.

they do look nasty don't they? i made sure that the only cracks are in the head tube, at least that's what the seller insisted. i do know how to weld but i plan on taking the head tube out and replacing it. i figure it's cheap enough to experiment. i have done some silver and brass brazing before but never on a frame. as long as i can get the old tube out (i've heard that is by far the hardest part) i think i'll be o.k.

Bikes: currently, none. waiting for my bob jackson.

hey... for 35 bucks, who cares! ride that thing into the ground, and pray it isn't the first day

stupid question of the day: is that related in anyway to fetish cycles?

huh. no clue what it is, and never heard of the marque.

nice-looking frame though, those fastback seatstays look sweet.

seems a little weird to me that it's got vert. dropouts and a pump peg.

also, i just looked at the auction, and if you ride that frame as-is you're asking to get hurt.

i will not ride this bike unless i can get that head tube out. those cracks look like death to me.

i don't think there's any link to fetish cycles, as far as i know that is the model name.
