NYC just got into FIXED need to learn

Hi
I got into rideing because I wanted to train for another sport I just moved to the city. and fell in love with rideing. I built a fixed gear bike last week and ride everyday. however I dont know any thing about this sport and I want to by wheels and parts, and I have no Idea what to buy. whats crap and whats not if anyone out there would be so kind as to help It would be fantastic.
