Pursuit Frames?
I really like how they look. But I dont know who makes them. I know about KHS but I dont know how to track one down. I saw a bike on craigslist a while back made by cyclops bike but i cant find them.
Any one got any info?
ps. i dont like them with anything smaller than a 650front.

Pursuit frames once was the same as any other track bike but when Francesco Moser broke the hour record in 1984 with frame with a sloping top tube. That became the standard of all time trial bikes road and pursuit and kilo track.
It gives a relax angle, stream line for aerodynamics and give you more power stroke.
S/F,
CEYA!

Mercier Kilo TT:

Spicer Standard Track Frameset:

It's the same factory frame that any number of companies have had branded w/ their own name to serve as a no-budget frame option for people. Consider also Leader/Fetish frames ... or the other aluminum track frame that's been branded maybe a half dozen times under different names.
Above and beyond that, Gene does great custom work. That's the important thing.

honestly, mine is a 650 c and it doesnt bother me one bit, but then again i dont use drops or bullhorns, just straight up risers. i cant imagine a 24". that **** doesnt even look fun at all.

I think it might be useful to clarify that pursuit is actually an event on the track. A pursuit "bike" is simply one designed for this event; generally, lower BB than other track bikes since you're not flicking up the track, longer wheelbases (though this varies) and steep geometry for power output. They are also usually built with aerodynamics in mind, since pursuit is a timed event (every second, or fraction thereof, counts).
Bikes with sloping top tubes are just to get you lower. They appear in TT bikes, as well as sprint bikes. Just depends on who designed the frame. The front end is usually jokingly low because you'd be putting slam bars on there (otherwise known as "pursuit" bars...see a pattern?).
As someone who has owned a 24"/650c front, as well as a 700c front, I'd say ideally find one with a 700c front so you can race it if you ever so choose. UCI rules stipulate that bikes have to have the same sized wheels, and all USCF sanctioned races need to be UCI rules compliant by 2007, I think. Also, it sucks having to carry two tubes/buy two tires/find matching rims in two sizes. They're fun as hell, but not ideal for longer rides, more than say, 10-15 miles depending on your flexibility, the fit on the bike, and how far you're willing to go to look like a total badass.
I read somewhere in the USCF rule book that you can technically ride a road bike on pursuit, but you have to disengage the shifters, or something. I'm too lazy to look it up.

Tasty, yet uncomfortable! Thats how I would describe pursuit frames... Just don't be a joker and put track drop bars and stems on them, like this:

the bullhorns that are on it right now pretty much put my hands in a similar position as if the frame had a horizontal top tube with track bars. The benefits are a smaller, stiffer frame and I love bullhorns already.
