alright...yet ANOTHER lame idea

to those of you who know about paint/printmaking help it out with this one.

i had another lame idea that probably wont happen but im still thinking about the possibility.
so i want to make a burberry inspired deep v wheel set. how hard would it be? can i screenprint the pattern on it? how gaudy would it look? um....photoshop anyone?

yer taking this in far left field. the idea is super customization(sp). why have every color everyone else has ("oh snap! mine are eggplant....err purple colored!") when you could make it your own? ah, ill go floppin around like a fish instead.

screenprinting wouldn't work, but they could be painted, or possibly wrapped in vinyl?

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

Um, FYI.

Seems like vinyl would prob. be your best option. Either that or eight bazillion hours with a 00 paintbrush & magnifying glass. Check & see if you can find someplace that does the vinyl for those ads they cover cars/buses with.

Bikes: 2005 johnny coast cycles #4 track, 1971 peugeot px-10 road, gt performer 1986 PINK bmx, 1966 raleigh rodeo 3-speed STICK SHIFT 20", 1960s rollfast tandem, 1970s raleigh fixed

do you want the plaid print or the stitched effect? i would say simplify it down to black, white and red bands of vinyl sticker paper (either find the right color or spraypaint/paint/screen them - but now the wheels are getting heavy...) and then cut and place by hand on a painted tan rim. it would be a ***** but with enough effort you could make it happen.

to clarify, it aint about the burberry pattern but more of the concept of altering a cult item to ultimately make it unique. damn....making a mf. explain his self.

moma never hugged me enough. its also why i hate chain whips. see daddy raced on the track and would come home after losing with fire in his eye and chain whip in hand.......
