i'd like to deter the theft of my seat post and saddle. getting a locking skewer for a quick release clamp seems like the best solution. however, i am only interested in getting the seat post skewer, and I am having trouble finding one for a reasonable price.

filling the bolt with solder and the like doesn't seem like it would be an effective deterrent. cable locks are another solution, but dont seem like they'd be as good as a locking skewer. i'd really rather not get a quick release clamp and have to haul my seatpost and saddle around either.

suggestions and input on this would be most welcome.

but you would be buying the whole kit just to secure your seatpost.

A trick we use is to glue a BB in the hole using superglue or shoegoo.

All I have is an ISO taper. Would an octalink work better?

yeah, i'll probably end up doing the bb in the bolt and using a cable lock, cos i am most definately not spending $40.
