things you guys will need for the course:
1) bug spray
2) a rope ladder
3) directions home and cab fare
4) a mountain bike
5) a tent, in case things in talisman state park go bad
6) a baseball bat
7) an emergency quarter
8) waterproof shoes (for sure!) that creek is mad deep with all the rain.
9) hodari's code name in the bronx, lest you become separated from the pack. ch0mb0 and i used this twice. it is emergency use only tho!
10) and last but not least, you will need daga, to get your back

mrRed 05-28-06 05:38 PM

BadAssBiker 05-28-06 05:59 PM

I died.

No joke.

Indeed. This course claimed five flat tires, a crash into a tunnel, BadassBiker's life (almost), and the organizer's frame:

We followed the white rabbit to the Howell Grove Checkpoint in Van Cortland Park. It's the one that's under the trees in the google earth map course. We took a group photo (!) to show you what it looks like.

And apparently, a depressed chipmunk tried to end it all by diving through my spokes, but only managed a backflip, then ran away.

We stopped at the bottom of City Island for Pina Colada's. As you can tell, they were badass:

And while bxrumble couldn't make it there with us, Photoshop says he was!

On our way back, Knifefight & I seem to have stumbled upon that weird military zone or whatever that Dirtycookie & Ch0mb0 found:

shishi 05-28-06 07:17 PM

And we all made it to the finish in one piece, nothing better than bike glove anti-burn. Thanks to bxrumble.
