rumble thru the bronx

bxrumble was an amazing host. sorry about your frame. the course is great, and anyone who didn't come ride with us completely missed out on an incredible day. the chipmunk acrobatics had to be seen to be believed--as did the half-naked handstands at the orchard beach picnic area and the perplexed looks on a lot of faces as to what the hell the few of us who rode down onto the beach were actually doing there.
mrred, mattsimbols and i rode back through the scenic south bronx. FUN!!!!

so to make the weekend complete, I went to go get breakfast this morning, start to pedal and fell over on my right side. Stripped hub was the culprit...Damn Bronx ride did my ****ty hub in. Still can't believe that thing lasted 4+ years.

I wish I had read this thread yesterday before I took a ride through the bronx that basically went to allmost all of the checkpoints that you guys went to. When I saw you guys near city island, I figured that you were from the 4 boros beer tour that I woke up too late for.

well, 5 of us did it without sog.
ho, the playground at the oval is the one that actually has the sign on its fence that marks it as the "williamsbridge oval playground," right? cos there are 3 playgrounds and that seems to be the only one marked that way.

went up with a small crew yesterday. will put up any photos and points of interest in the coming days.
- saw one lone rider up there but he didn't respond to hailing frequencies.
- apparently, someone has been tagging up the course with arrows like they do for century rides. somebody from here?
- be careful going through the park. seriously
