That was a fun race. I was with Todd & Felipe through most of Queens, then hooked up with Dan (knifefight) for most of the rest of the race. He & some dude named Ed skitched off some shady truck together on 56th road in Queens while I caught the draft. The dude kept on leaning out the window offering us a cup of "water". Based on the looks of this mystery machine, I wouldn't take it for granted that he was actually offering us something that wouldnt' kill us. Hopefully there's some good footage of their skitch on the helmetcam I was wearing for bikeblog.blogspot.com. Hugo & Lucas also gave their helmet cam footage to Mike Green (bikeblog), so he's got footage from number 1, number 2, and number 3. Should be a cool vid once he's got it edited.
W'burg bridge roadway was quite fun to ride over all by myself!

there was no check point ON the W. bridge it was at the bottom and taking the roadway saved a chunk of time getting to the checkpoint on the Manhatan bridge

the check point on the Manhattan was at the top of the roadway. I only know that though cause I stumbled past it heading home. Was wondering why someone was flintstone breaking at top speed into canal and then someone else told me "almost there" just as I started climbing the bridge... Looked like fun, wish I was paying attention enough to know it was happening ahead of time.

Complete results will be up today on MESS. Michael's putting together a short video. Check for video clips on Mess, 4916.com. and Bikeblog.blogspot. com.
Thanks everybody for making this such a success!!! 74 total racers, 64 finishers, and the weather held out just long enough for the block permit. We couldn't have asked for more. Congrats again to Austin and Brooke for their wins. And thanks to all the sponsors.

What a great day for a race. I hit a guy squar in the nuts with my ride.
The crowd was in good spirits and the trackeriffic events afterwards were fun to sit in on.
This weekend was even more fun than last year's!
