I the green !!
Maybe Ill get one of these to park next to my black one !
If I read sprtymamas blurb on the green one correctly about 2 weeks ago
they are going to be realeasing different colors regularly ??
I love my cheepo ! I enjoyed building it up....experimenting with gears and
finally, riding it every day. Ive ridden my TT for a few months, a few hundred
miles over crappo Vermont backroads as a commuter bike and nothing has gone
wrong with it. I tightened the spokes and the cog once and it just keeps
rolling. Nothing wrong with cheep to me.

I saw the multiple auctions on eBay and was considering buying one myself. But I ended winning a Pista. I love it, but I only got to ride it a couple of times because the crank shafts ended up being bad. Now I have to wait for new ones to come in, and its driving me crazy!

Click my sig and tell me if you think the green would look good or goofy with the gold. I've been wanting a nice Italian track frame but it would get ruined in the winter, maybe a TT is the way to go?
Cuz looks are everything.

I almost bought one of these in Houston last year. I took half the money and had a fixed rear wheel built for my Surly (I've since sold it.). I'm glad I didn't ask for any advice about the bike. I would hate to have to give my info to prove I'm not in their pockets. If you people knew what the feds knew, you would banish me from the forum forever! Who knew a sheep could talk???

pathdoc, your avatar ****ing creeps me out. And why do you continue to tell us that you are a doctor. Nobody gives a ****.
BD Shill...
Finally, People should never put pictures of themselves in their avatars because
1. I don't actually want to see what my e-friends look like and...
b. There's just something creepy about it. Especially if you're old.
3. None of you are as ridiculously good looking as me.

I'm going to go pick up my bike from the shop and do a little riding. I've had enough of all these insults.

I went ahead and ordered a set of Mavic CXP 22 Silver with Formula Sealed Bearing Track Hubs. I want to sincerely thank those willing to discuss single speed bike issues with us newbies.

My Mavics needed some truing when I got them. They were not way off but they did need a little fine tuning.
Your LBS could do this or you could get a truing stand for less than 40 bucks and check on Sheldon's site or Parktools for directions and give it a go. Some rim tape tubes and tires and you are set.
You will be happy with the wheels and hubs for the price.

I am sure he is not the first to replace a set of wheels shortly after getting a new bike. I would be at the top of that list along with many others. The 200 gram weight reduction in upgraded parts for hundreds of dollars is the reason I am going faster, not the 10 lbs that I have lost working out harder. I prefer buying shiney new stuff for my bike instead of buying new clothes. Then again, I am only a visitor here from the Roadie forum ad evidenced by my white garage door.

The Mavic/Formula set is a great deal. In addition to the initial truing out of the box, keep an eye on the spoke tension on these (and I would assume most machine-built wheels). Mine loosened up considerably, and I went nuts trying to figure out where the whirring, clacking noise was coming from.

Doctors have this mysterious thing called 'money' which allows them to perform a secret ritual called 'buying lots of ****'.
I'm actually surprised he's not on the Roadie forum posting about an IF or a Litespeed, but then again, we wouldn't be having this wonderful 'is he a doctor or an astroturfer' conversation.

i just want to say that everyone is adorable.
this thread is like being trapped in a henry darger painting--but without the naked pre-pubescent children with goat-horns poking forth from their heads hanging other more clothed children from the gallows while soldiers with bayonets look on.

I love bikes but I can't ever bring myself to spend a ton on one. My most expensive bike was the Jackson and I didn't go crazy with components, I used Ultegra. I see bikes for $2K plus and I just can't bring myself to even try one out. I'm old fashioned and like steel with nice lugs. Fortunately you can build a nice steel framed bike for way less than $2K. This little single speed is my way of checking out the single speed road experience. My offroad is a single speed and I love it.
