Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

pedal straps

okay, I normally keep 'em pretty loose, but I put new pedals on and I decided to try strapping down nice and tight. enjoyed the feel for the rest of the ride and didn't even think about it until I got to whole foods and went to cowboy dismount...my right foot came out, but the left one didn't. hilarity and a scraped up shin ensues.

pop one foot out and swing it over the whole bike and go from riding to walking your bike in one fluid motion. it involves being able to take your feet out of your clips.

Ah, right.
I always pop both feet out before I do that.
