Thanks for sharing those links, they give me good feelings  especially when I see a familiar old skate spot or two still being rocked.

Maybe I'm just too simple, but to me it really doesn't matter who's doing what tricks on what device.
I just like to see people getting up and doing it.

giessel 05-16-06 10:34 AM

man those videos made me pee myself a little

OK ALOT OK WOWOWOWOWOW +(!)

Sinfield 05-16-06 12:53 PM

the manual to the rolling endo off the park bench in the first vid is sooo smooth. I watch a lot of street MTB vids and seeing the stuff the 20in. guys are doing makes you realize you should probably just give up now because there's no way MTB (or in this case track bikes) will ever be able to compare in terms of progression.

+1

I used to hit up the brooklyn bridge banks on my skateboard back in the days

ahpook 05-16-06 02:10 PM

those flatland bmx vids are 100x more impressive than a 200ft skid. (but only 10x as impressive as a 2000ft skid)

CCCCCCC 05-16-06 03:21 PM

who is this steven hamiliton dude, im watching his video things start to look familiar, then i realize that hes tearing up ohio state in most that video. I think i saw him do that round wall ride the other day, i donnt know many kids that can do that.. is he from columbus?

onetwentyeight 05-16-06 03:35 PM

yea. hes part of team animal.

MasterHalco 05-16-06 03:59 PM

I gotta put some pegs on my fixie.

TRaffic Jammer 05-16-06 04:10 PM

sweeeet.
could you mount grind pegs on a 700C"?

ImOnCrank 05-16-06 04:36 PM

I don't know sh*t from shinola about BMX but steven hamilton is like the amazing bike bastard child of Rodney Mullen and Brian Iguchi circa 96

no, but we could all learn how to kick ass on bmx bikes instead of doing the same six tricks on track bikes. or not. i just like getting from a to b quickly, and i look like an underfed orangutan on a bmx.

thatguy 05-16-06 04:53 PM

I watched the first video at work, and actually started giggling. It makes me just want to give up and never ride my bike again.

carleton 05-16-06 05:54 PM

Yo! That video of Ratboy is tight!

Here's the guy that taught Ratboy all about BMX back in Phoenix.

Mark "The Gonz" Gonzalez. This guy is credited with inventing modern Street riding:

Hahaha! I was the same way when I heard of the skate Gonz. I was like, "He skates, too??"

It's crazy. They both legends pioneered street versions of their respective sports at the same time. They are about the same age. The BMX Gonz was in Phoenix and the Skate Gonz in SF.

TRaffic Jammer 05-16-06 06:07 PM

You mean the biking Gonz is from the 80's too? That's twisted. The skater....man he was somethin' to watch back then.
DUDEMAN: he just started messin' with BMX? I wonder if his knees are as shot as mine after 25 years of skating?

ch0mb0 05-16-06 10:16 PM

what's crazy is that there's actually a third Gonz, and he occasionally posts on this very forum.

didn't Nostradamus write about some sh*t like this?

teiaperigosa 05-17-06 06:20 AM

mufukas mannin' up since back in the day!!!!

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...8128&q=bicycle

dudes need to step up they game

Ya Tu Sabes 05-17-06 08:42 AM

I thought "man up" meant "pick a man on the opposing basketball/football team and cover him."

Fantomas 05-17-06 11:20 AM

anyone have another version of the mash promo? the tool bar loads the video and it plays the music but no images appear

mikorp 05-17-06 11:27 AM

you might need to update your quicktime version?

Makes me sick..I used to be a BMXer, but the stuff they are doing these days is so beyond what anyone would have concieved of back when I was riding (late 80s mostly). Its just sick nowadays.

The urban/street aspect of fixed gear biking has got me thinking about BMX again. Anybody here do both? I'd love to jump back on a 20 inch...I'm sure I could still pull rolling tailwhips, hang fives, and maybe a wall ride or two..its been so long though. Forget about stuff like handrail grind to 360 bunnyhop to manual wallride...this new stuff is way outta my range.
