Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

+1 on raincoat/hoodie. It is an excelent pad and it is useful when it starts raining or gets cold.

I just rode back from the grocery store with a 2 lb pack of chicken wings as padding.
not only was it the cushiest padding ever, it was cold!

Me too. Although I had to take it out when I carried 50 lb. of bricks home. 50 lb. of feathers would have weighed the same but been a lot less pointy.
