Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Since it's been almost five months, can we get an update from the OP?

I seem to have the same problem. I'm on my 5th saddle this year and still no joy... Might have to build my own......

Bikes: I built the Bianchi track bike back up today.

I foresee a lot more saddles being needed. I took too much leather just off the side of one brooks and rode it in rain and ended up having to over tension it. Eventually, it was just mush, and you could turn the front nose of the saddle really easily. Seems like the amount of the leather that's gone will do bad things for the structural integrity...

I agree. The emporer is naked, and he rides a brooks.

Things I can not understand people saying:
"Break in period"
"Not in the rain"
"stains regular shorts"
"must moisturize" (poof hide)
"body will adapt"
"needs to air out from excess sweat"
and then saying they are the best most comfortable saddle around. I like the way they look, and the old school concept. However, having rode one for a month strait: I can not understand the way people love them.

All other saddles I've tried hurt my ass...my Brooks doesn't.

(tried: SI Flite Titanium, SSM Aspide, Spec. Toupe, Coda Racing, various gel pads, 8-10 different shorts and chamois, dozens of micro adjustments to each saddle)
