Chicago to Milwaukee this past weekend...

Some mates and I made the ride on Saturday. Rain nearly stopped us but we decided to tough it out and were rewarded with dry roads.

I'm only posting it in this forum because:
  • I asked for some bar suggestions in another Milwaukee thread here...
  • One of my mates was on a Langster
  • He made me promise not to change gears, so I didn't

We ended up going to some awful Jock/frat bar (Nomad) thanks to one of the groups' girlfriend's suggestion. Wish I had listened to hyperRevue... but we were pretty well spent after a few beers anyway.

Yeah, wall-to-wall thick-necked frat guys. The only saving grace was the fact that a couple of guys were wearing England kit and that made me feel warm/fuzzy on the inside.

Did you take the McRory bike path? I took it to my mom's
(Zion) and back on mother's day and it was a sweet ride.
Milwaukeans, any good bars/restaurants near the Bradley Center?

We took a bunch of different trails - this route: https://www.wgtd.org/trailhome.htm

And we did go through Zion, so maybe?

Near the Bradley Center?
Not that I know of.
Probably just a lot of sports bars.

As I said in the other thread, that trip looked like a blast.
I should get some friends together and do the reverse.

We (the lady and I) were given free tickets to see Bruce Springsteen.

The ride was pretty nice. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone thinking of doing the same.

It is just so nice to be out there in the sun, goofing around with your friends, safe in the knowledge that you're going to be in the saddle all day...

Bikes: mine

I'm down for some long weekend rides in a couple of weeks when I get settled enough in Chicago to be able to afford vacation. The Basso definately wants to get out more.
