I'm considering getting a Soma Rush frame and building it up with some parts I have around. It will have brakes, front & rear. Does the Rush frame take "regular" length brake calipers, or does it need the long-reach kind? I don't see on Soma geometry page (https://www.somafab.com/geometry03.html) any mention of needing the long-reach kind, but I want to make sure.

short reach. Specs say there is clearance for 28s I run 25s with plenty of clearance, but they are clearly not set up for long reach calipers.
or tarckeemoon, depending
I've fit 28s with room to spare, but yeah. Short reach on the brakes.

while the bridge is drilled, there are no cable guides. get some clamp-on ones from an old shop, they should fit on the top tube.
what do you want a rear brake for?

I was planning on running singlespeed for a while; therefore, brakes. I live atop a mile of 6% grade, so the first mile of every ride I do is pretty fast (the last mile is kind of slow...). "Forgetting" to pedal half-way down that would get me killed. The only bike-related thing I've ever been on that doesn't allow coasting is a spin bike at the gym. Learning to always pedal at 40mph probably isn't the best idea.
