I don't know if I should consider myself NYC or Philly for Rocky IV. I grew up four blocks from the art museum steps, I threw eggs at suburbanites pretending to be rocky (a couple of times), I went to reform school in Philly, and I'm aware of the fact that salt, pepper, and ketchup are part of one unitary condiment. I even worked for heavensent for a month.

But I live in NYC, I've only ever raced in NYC, I got my Soma from Bicycle Station, built the wheels at Times Up!, and had it assembled at Trackstar. I've started saying "to stay" rather than "for here," the NYPD has given me tickets for riding critical mass, and "doing a loop" has begun to mean central park, rather than Kelly-->West River Drive.

I'm torn.

when you order a hot dog, do you say "I'll have a hot dog" or do you say "lemme get a hot dog" ?

What do you call a long sandwitch that contains lettuce, cold cuts, and so on? Can you even imagine such a device without fresh Amoroso's?

If you refuse to pay $5 for a lager at a NYC bar, then you're Philly. If, on the other hand, you drink yuengling in new york bars, we don't want you anymore.

whenever I go to a bar, I order "lager." here they give me brooklyn, there they give me yuengling. works well.

heroes are nasty, and italian hoagies with olive oil and oregano are sublime.

I don't say wooder, nor did I ever go "downnashore." I did go to cafflik school for two years though, and when I get wet, I dry myself off with a tal and close the winduh

some controversy for good measure: Pats and Genos are nothing compared to most neighborhood joints around the city. south Philly stopped being as cool when skinny joey and fat tony got pinched.

no, I got plenty of hometown pride. I just can't figure out if I should race as out of town.

yuengling can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime. brooklyn ain't bad, but it's no yuengling.

and yeah, pats and genos just keep the tourists away from the real cheesesteak spots.

just flip a coin or something and decide what to race. maybe it depends on your partner. do you want to be an out of town team, local team, or mix.

It is quite difficult to enjoy Yuengling here, as it is not available (yet?). America's oldest brewery has yet to make it very far west... Not that Wisconsin is lacking in beers.

I thought that it was not "America's oldest brewery" but "America's oldest continuously operating brewery." Better bragging rights on the latter, IMO.
