it is indeed, 24k if im not mistaken. and the best part, when it made its debut at the x-games, he took a nasty spill with his gold plated, ridiculous rig.

Tasteful matching rules, while that SF monster does not. More to the point, the fact that the guy walks into Freewheel and simply asks for as many gold anodized/powdercoated parts as possible to build that bike puts a distasteful image in my mind. "Hey dude, I have a couple thousand to blow on color-coded parts; want to help?" Multiply that by a ridiculous amount and you have what I imagine a normal day is at Freewheel. Not that I'd complain if I were in Travis' shoes, but I'd shake my head at the least.

Do you know that the owner of the bike actually said that?...or did you make that up (you know, LIE) to support your your point.

Goldar was my favorite Japanese Giant Robot dude when I was a little dipper.

I basically forgot about him until this thread. Funny how we live in distant memories long forgotten, happiness triggered by a single word or song.

Now I'm going to go do some stuff that I like, but others probably don't understand. Thanks, onetwentyeight.

I guess gutter economics are the new white belt, eh 12XU? I wonder what will be the next new way to not conform by conforming secretly will be!
The suspense! It's like the night before Christmas! Or, more appropriately, like watching the napalm canisters fall towards you from the sky.

I feel sorry for the modern child clinging hopelessly to his Playstation2 controller and myspace account.

Our imaginations were framed in poorly shot 3-d technicolor.

that thing got stolen from a demo at madison square garden in the early 90's and still hasn't resurfaced.

First family vacation to California I saw the Vans Freestyle Team perform at Knottsberry Farm. Plexiglass half-pipe with ZERO flat bottom and no platform. Mike Dominguez getting 5 ft. out. It was sick. Also in attendance was Martin Aparejo and Woody Itson. You gotta love a nice flatland session which included a 4x8' sheet of plywood tilted at a 45 degree angle. Back then a bunnyhop was still a pretty ill maneuver.
