Bullhorns! Wow!

I'm super excited. Last night, I slapped a set of Profile Design Stoker 26 bullhorns on my bike, and tonight I went riding with them. WOW! SO. MUCH. BETTER. THAN. DROPS. I felt so much more powerful while out of the seat and holding on to the ends, and all of a sudden I can skid.

I'm telling you, they should be standard equipment on fixed-gear bikes.

I don't know, part of the reason I went with 'horns was because I liked the way they looked on other bikes. *shrug*

risers are like this:

i have them on my bike (with about 3' on either side hacksawed off / filed down) - my only issue with them is the limited hand positions. after a longer ride, my hands start to hurt because there is only one hand position, unless i feel like riding with my fingertips. i'd stick with the bullhorns for multiple hand positions, i think that's the route i'm about to go.

Creamsicle. Heh.

I'll have to throw some white on it to complete the naming.

Yeah, have those on my MTB. I'm sure they work great on fixies too, but right now I'm WAY enamoured of my 'horns.

Horns are my favorite, followed by risers and then drops.

If you're goign to rock risers, you can usually put some bar ends on them near the middle for a nice cruising position. Not very good for skidding though, just comfort.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Drops are better. I like to torque on my rounded shoulders, I live getting low in my drops, and I like the slightly curving ends of the bar tops, for my pinkies. DROPS FOR LIFE.

I rode horns for about 4+ years. Just recently went with drops. I like the drops, but it is quite the transition.

I rode 202 miles on Saturday (Grand Tour) on my Steamroller with a set of Syntace bullhorns. Very comfortable on my hands, no numbness. And these bars I think are waaay more comfortable for climbing than grabbing hoods on drops.

i like my drops, but i used to like bullhorns too. they are good for skidding but I like getting low when its windy, and I find the shoulders of drops pretty comfy. my ass usually starts hurting before my hands do on longer rides.

bullhorns give more control, not just for skids. road drops are good only with hoods, and track drops are useless for everything but track. I bet risers are comfy, and I bet ape hangers are also.

I gotta disagree with your policework there, Norm...Without hoods on my road drops I can grip the tops of the drops and put my thumbs on the downward curve; I've got all the control I need for skids. So, yeah, for me road drops are better without hoods.

If you like both drops and horns and have to choose between them, you don't have enough bikes.

i'm going to put some bullhorns on one of my bikes sometime soon to see what all the hype is about...but i definitely prefer the way drops look, especially the old cinelli's i'm rocking, with the crazy knight/crest thing engraved on them...i feel like i'm riding into battle or something...
