Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I bought a pair of vittoria rubinos for 24$ online and the tires don't seem to match up to the ones on the picture. I was wondering if I was sold a lower model of tire? Based on the labels, no kevlar, blah blah.

They did send me alloy toe clips instead of steel ones. Any idea on what model rubino this is?

ones adveratized on the website

I ordered them off king kog, I was grabbing a pair of mks pedals/clips and they had the tire I wanted so I thought why not. Any ideas?

from what I have been told, they are the same - you have the most recent models/version (same ones I do). I really like the Rubino tire and was turned on to them about a year ago. Haven't considered anything different since.

catalog download here - check page 21 I believe for the composition of the tire

Ohhh, the new logo is sweet. I never liked the flashy mile-long crazyness anyway. Can't wait for when mine wear out some time next year so I can buy new ones...

Well just looking at the tire I don't think it is the same.
The thread looks a little different and the tire feels flimsier.
Also, the rubber has a different feel to it. I use to like the old rubinos a lot but I heard many complaints about the new ones. I still need to try them myself though.
