Gan Well Pro frame builder Mr. Doi passed away.

from trackstar website:

"This is Takuya ,KAZE Kyoto speaking.
How are you doing?
Is there anyone who ride Ganwell in the Trackstar?
There is a sad news to tell you.
Mr.Doi, the frame-builder of Ganwell passed away last week by the pancreatic problem. He was building frames until the day he was hospitalized.
This Sunday is his 60 years old birthday and it was also his retirement day. I have strong respect on Mr. Doi who spent all his life to make great bikes.
He was very proud that messengers around the world use his bikes among Keirin racers. Even he was a quiet guy, he was talking about that all the time.
If the rider of Ganwell send a message of condolence, that will make Doi's family and people of Ganwell feel proud."

Bikes: Titus road, Fort CX

Additionally, this is coming from one source only.
I have yet to see anything else come down the chatterlines regarding the passing of Mr. Doi. I have sent an email out to GanWell's US distributor to see if they can confirmation this information. No badness to the post at Trackstar; I am just curious as to the validity of this.
Mr. Doi was ill and hospitalized. That much I can confirm. I asked a few other sources for confirmation.

I only hope for the best.

I spoke to some bikers from Tokyo last week they said he passed away. I am awaiting word from my builders from there.

Now only 35 builders.

Well, this is confirmed on my end too. Mr. Doi has passed away. I am deeply saddened for the loss of his family and friends. A highly skilled and dedicated frame builder to the end indeed.
