Portland, (OR) shop recommendations?

I will definitely be hitting Veloshop. Any other suggestions? I'm visiting for a few more days.

Also, any good shows or things going on tomorrow (Monday) night?

haven't checked for music yet, but the portland mercury is a good place to start. stumptown's windows always have flyers up.

bike central should be hit, and city bikes on 20th and ankeny is good if you're looking for parts, especially ones you don't want/need to spend a lot on.

Cool. Let's hit em' up tomorrow. I'm definitely looking for some used parts. I love leaving a bike shop with greasy hands

Nope, just have a few friends there and was in town for a few days last month, so I did my research on the quick.

Veloce Cyclery - 3202 SE Hawthorne Blvd - mostly roady stuff, some real good deals if you look for them.

North Portland Bike Works - 3951 N Mississippi Ave - great DIY shop. Repairs, recycled bikes, used parts.

+1 for Veloce.

Demitri did a great job on my fixie conversion. He'll set you up with a killer set of custom, hand-built Velocity Deep Vs for a great price. They look great and they're bombproof!

I think hce should stop telling people that he lives in north portland and just start admitting that he really lives in kelly point park.

ha ha, i live in the kenton neighborhood....google "willis and peninsular" and i live a few houses off that intersection.

this is why i hate this neighborhood. not only do some people refuse to come by, some can't even belive it exists.

alright dude. I totally mapped it. stop telling people you live in "kenton" those neighborhood names only exist to city planners and map manufacturers. I mean, if I said I lived in the "boise" neighborhood whouldyou know were that was?
I didnt make that up, it's really what my neighborhood is officially called.
anyway, just tell people you live in st. johns and have them be pleasantly suprised when they don't have to go as far as they expect.
