Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

+1, although you make a good case in saying you just wanted to be done with it/him.

I remember posting a thread over aa month ago in regards to getting my wheeeels stolen. Well, last week I ws watching some kids play kickball and this guy rolls up with my wheelset, same yellow tires as well!! The guy said he bought it from some guy off of craigslist. I called the police, and they could not do anything since I DID not make a report or register the wheelset. So, I'm pretty much SOL....
Not trying to threadjack, but I understand how u feel when u get crap stolen from u..

Isn't the moral of the story here to file a police report when you get stuff stolen? That way on the off chance the stuff turns up somewhere, you can get the police on your side in getting it back.

I've never registered a bike with the police, but I always photograph my bikes, just because I like to have pictures of them all. It's a good idea too for theft reasons. if something is stolen, a picture with the police report will go a long way if the bike is ever recovered.

Particularly if someone made a call to the IRS telling them he was operating a business and not declaring his income.
