green rear disk wheel?

spotted on/near hawthorne in portland today, what the damn? it looked like plexiglass but that seems like it wouldnt be too sturdy. what other sort of disk wheels are going around? i've only seen carbon and then that mirrored aluminum one.

yeah that was the one!

but in other news, still no place =/

looking at this place in downtown, but not sure how hard it would be to get around town on a bike from there. also emailed a person looking for a roomate or two. we'll see.. I'm in an Extended Stay place out in gresham right now though.

ooooh gresham. fun. i lived there for a couple of months but spent all my time crashed on friends couches...i wasn't too into gresham.

you'll find a place, though. if you're taken care of now, you'll get a place soon.

and yeah, that's owen of freight train bags. he and a guy who messengers in town here put together disk wheels together. they're just fabric, sewed like a pillow case over the rims, and the tube and tire hold it down. i think it's genius...but i'm sure there'll be days when disk wheels blow ass.

still, tempting. i want to do that myself...just a little.

yeah....moving can be ****ty. don't worry, though...people sometimes make portland seem tougher than it is. you'll get a place, get work, all that fun stuff, as long as you keep at it and have stuff set up until you do.

oh, by the way...if you're worried about getting around from a place downtown, don't. anywhere worth going is totally rideable from downtown.

Dude, good call. No pressure but Christmas Valley is the definition of BFN.

yeah i was stuck out there for a few days when she was looking for a place. she's going to be the third grade teacher out there

we stayed in this relatively nice looking, clean hotel, but with no phone, no cell reception, no internets, and only 1 tv channel, well, they had a satellite, but you have to go to the office to ask them to change it for you...**** was wonky

"i mean...its kind of like camping, right?"
"yeah...but you choose to go camping"

This ones black but the one I've seen in person was reddish brown and I've seen a picture of a tan one. It has a carbon rim with a kevlar disk. It's a few grams ligther the the mavics or corimas and a few times the cost. I have no clue how stiff it is or how well it preforms but they aren't very popular. The only one I've seen was on some dudes custom made around town nagasawa so it may just be the price, money was clearly no object to this kid.

I've been camping by christmas valley.
