i used my road bike everyday when i was in california and now i'm getting into fixed gear and would like to meet some people to ride, learn, drink and smoke with. i'm not gonna **** on albany (because i have to be here for a while!). there are definitely some chill spots around from what i've seen from riding around - i'm just having trouble fitting in or something. hit me up if you want to go for a ride! |

Seriously, doesn't your girlfriend know there are law schools in areas of the US that don't massively suck?

In all seriousness I'm sure your wife is a lovely lady. Hell she might even let you amuse yourself and let you win an argument from time to time. |

Err...a wife that knows more about the pre-nup than you?

(I like to have the trails, mountains, roads and lakes all to myself) We moved here 6 years ago (Saratoga Springs) from Long Island and love it. Cost of living is a fraction of downstate, and I can be out in the country inside of 15 minutes. |
holy crap, I am so glad all those boring lame people decided they hate Albany and moved somewhere else to live their miserable lives!
Albany is like a Hub, besides the in town stuff to do - theres a ton of stuff to do so close by, and such a wide variety from the track in Saratoga, to awesome road & XC riding, to concerts, to hiking, snowshoeing, skiing in the adirondacks, Catskills, Berkshires, Green Mtns...to water sports at Lake George, Saratoga Lake, Lazurne, Sacandaga Lake (if/when NYC gets the olympics they already plan to come up here for many events)...and Boston, NYC & Montreal are all close enough for day trips. And if you can take the heat in the summer or the cold in the winter your just one big ass wussy. |
im from albany now live in troy and ride with 6 or so people i have never been to any of the CM's or alleycats but there are a bunch of people riding. You will notice more when the weather gets alittle warmer..Also its not that bad living here not the best but far from the worse.

Don't come back. Also, Im glad someone finally noticed that the "scene" is whatever you make it. +5 to all of the parties involved. |
