Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? quandry...

OK. So I got hit by a truck a while back...trashed my many geared bike.

This left me with a couple others.

A nappy '74 Schwinn SS conversion and an '06 B. Pista- stock. I added a spinner 18 to flop side of the norm 16.

Guess which one I am always returning to time and again to ride. I hope you guessed correctly or Guido is coming.

My quandry is this: I'm about to pee my pants in wait for the new bike I ordered, won't be here for, er, much to my consternation, 6 plus more weeks and drink too much coffee, I ride the beater spray canned Schwinn all I mean ALL the time, well, more than B. Pista and B. Pista is sitting with the tits still on the tires.

Should I divest myself of B. Pista and use the money to re- buy components and re-build the frame hit by the truck which checked out OK with it's maker OR keep the B. Pista for when I'm feeling the B. Pista love?

The MOST satisfactory reply gets the prize as judged by an independent panel of experts.

Maybe its just early, but you got hit by a couple of nappy-headed truck drivers named Guido and it made you pee your pants cuz you drank too much coffee, so you started sitting down with some tits and sold your love for some bike components?

And the whole thing was approved by an independent pannel of experts?
