what happened? cornering?
the only time i've ever been unseated was by striking the curb when a car was about to hit me. that was no fun... well maybe a little fun until i hit the ground.

Happened to me in the first week or riding my bike... thought I could flick the bike through a right turn into my driveway like my mountain bike... no deal. Smashed up the front wheel, got some rash on my arm and hip, and didn't get to do the triathlon that day.

I wonder how the fall might have been different had I not tried to straighten out

Bikes: unknown make TT bike, fixed; Romet Sport, gone; titanium Pinarello gone;Colnago with Campy C-Record/Super Record,on it's way; Funny Gianni Motta; Buehler track, Polrad track chrome; titanium MTB on 28'', fixed; Tri Wheeler, fixed
My first pedal strike was today. I tried to pass between a speed bump and a curb - usually I lean the bike towards the middle of the road to avoid the hit, this time I didn't and I hit the curb- no biggie as I was riding slowly, having my kid in a tow.

Bikes: a bunch.
The last time I did it was on the inside curb of a roundabout, which I cut just a wee bit too close.
Managed to ride through it though. My back wheel must have hopped about 5". The only damage was that I effed up the adjustment screw on my SPD.

I would only post if you where doing something really stupid and obnoxious when you crashed.
like say you where running a red without slowing down and a car came so you had to "swerve with traffic" and then you caught your pedal and fell and your bike got run over.
Just going too fast and losing traction or clipping a pedal happens to everyone and doesn;t make you a jackass.

What is this "Man up!" I've seen?
Also, how big a deal is pedal strike in normal turns? When I was first starting riding, I struck my pedal even on a road bike, but now I don't do that, but how is it once you're fixed? I'm concerned I won't be able to have as much fun turning as I used to cause I won't be able to go so steep.
