Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Miche Bottom Bracket Squeaking!

I just put on a Miche Bottom Bracket I just got from Ebay...after my ride today I started to here a squeaking noise every time I make a half rotation on my pedals...what could it be? Loose Cups, Not enough Grease? Helpa Bratha Out!

Tighten everything, including pedals, and then grease the spindle (very lightly) if it still squeaks. After that try checking other areas of the bike where the noise might be coming from-- it could possibly be your saddle, etc.

hmmm, I've used that same BB before actually, no problems though. Maybe pull it out and re-grease, make sure you get every metal contact point, ex. where the bb shell slides into the cups as well as the threads.

The tollerances of the bb shell into the cups it very tight so make sure you get it everywhere, a lot will be pushed out.

People always say "Don't grease square taper BB axles" saying it will damage it. But put a little on anyways, it will be just fine trust me.

When tightening the crank arms back on remember, with square taper, you don't want to torque it on super tight, this will do more damage to the axle than any grease will.

When you test it out ride in and out of the saddle, could be the seat post/seat rails as Toolshed said also could be the stem etc

Overtorquing will hurt the cranks WAY before the spindle gets deformed. Steel/Ti Vs. Aluminum is a no contest.

I have this bb and i was getting all kinds of noise from it plus the cups would work themselves loose. I greased the inside of the cups and locktited them in place and it eliminated most of the noise. It still creaks but it may be coming from my chainring bolts. Good luck!
