Just got my Medium Backpack from Freight, and it is quite excellent. It's incredibly comfortable and holds a vast amount. I haven't used it enough to be a complete expert, so perhaps other owners can chime in with their experiences. Here are some pics.



The back is nicely padded and the waist/chest straps are awesome. Check out the extra-wide waist strap, it's pretty amazing.

I have insufficient beverages or adorable kittens, so I just filled it up with records. I put in 56 seam to seam (although you could probably cram in another ten). Also, some of the albums were double LPs, so adjust accordingly. This only fills it up horizontally, there's still an inch or two in the bag and even more if you use the straps.



On my back. I'm about 5'11" and the bag is filled with the aforementioned records. It's pretty heavy but sits comfortably.

Ouch, that hurts the records. That's why people use milk crates.

What we need to know is the over the shoulder factor, can you see over your shoulder when you are riding?
If so, is the weight on your shoulders or are the straps pulling back on your shoulders, or is the weight sliding forward towards your head?

I have great sight lines over both shoulders with the bag on, but it would be pretty easy to pack it where that wouldn't be the case. I think I paid $185 before shipping, and I get the feeling the bag can outlive me.

Do the mediums not have the side flaps that the large ones do? I thought that was the smartest feature of those packs...

Does the medium come with bottom compression straps?

Yeah the flaps are there, I'm kind of new to the backpack game. There are three compression straps on the bottom, missed out on a picture of those. I feel like it's a big meterological joke that I get my new bag on the hottest, stickiest days of the year.
