Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Crankset Recommendations?

Going along with the Japan vs. Italy thread, but much easier, I have a Campagnolo BB and I want new cranks. I was recommended Sugino, but I now know I can't do that, and on top of that I'd like to stay Italian. However, I'm not ready for a full Campy set yet. The only company I've found so far is Miche? Anything else? I'm currently riding IRO cranks and I'm tired of them. Not that they're bad, but I've switched out almost every part on my bike now and it's time for new cranks. This upgrading stuff gets really freaking addictive.

OK, unless you find old Sugino cranks, like early 80's, they're not going tio work with your BB taper. The modern Suginos are all JIS taper. (also totally ignoring the fact that you haven't mentioned what length your BB is)
Your only 2 ISO tapered track crank options are as you have already figured out..... Miche and Campy.

Bikes: Cocaine the white stallion, Custom Witcomb pista, (Being restored) 80's Pogliaghi Track, (destroyed) RAP Round Breeze NJS, Cannondale Jekyll 900, 84/5 Pinarello Montello (all italian)

Have you tried Ofmega, T/A, Stronglight, Gipemme, or FSA? I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure they all work with ISO.

p.s: The taper isn't that different but shhhhh don't tell anyone.

I believe TA and Stronglight are French. FSA is American/Taiwanese. I have no idea if Ofmega is still around...
