i personally don't think that those hubs should ever see the street. steinwerks hubs run about $325 a pair |
phil/open pro with a carbon tri spoke in the front, duh..........
|
Volos. They're all good wheels, and the others are a dime a dozen on the streets.

drac vamps not dolfaces... they are cronos prototype track hubs... he normally made road stuff. cane creek bought the design from him for their wheels. these are laced to silver tubular deep vs w bladed spokes..

why don't you have these tools. go get them, dude! it's not like you won't use them, right? does anyone else not have these? also, beautiful wheels. and i'm def. not trying to talk ****! you always have cool gear. but c'mon homey, the bike shop is for headset cups, not cogs! maybe not even the cups, but that's why i go. |
freewheel is less than a mile from me. i give them a 35 bucks every six months and I have access to all the tools I ever need, plus a bunch of awesome mechanics to answer all my dumb questions. Works well enough for me. plus refried bikes (another GREAT shop here in SF) is only 3 blocks from my house. I dont need the tools that bad. Between friends, freewheel, and refried I am covered.
I want to have a full tool and bike work set up eventually, but i have moved 3 times int he last 6 months due to messed up roomate situations, injury, and poverty. im in no rush. at the moment all i own is a wrench set and an allen set. *shrug* it'll happen. just not there yet. im just another kid with a bike addiction. |
well that sounds like a pretty decent situation...congrats on rare, cool ****in wheels! peace.
|
hey what about the bike kitchen sf
me and some friends started one here in sac and it is pretty cool the coop thing is good gotta stop by and see freewheel and sf kitchen just do the coop chit chat thing dude if you have 1/8" chain and a screwdriver you can use that like a chain whip works good for me or just mount the cog and wheel to your bike and burn out on the wall for a while till its supper tight then get a lockring tool and wrench |
bike kitchen is cool, its not in my neighborhood tho. I have random bits of chain and I know I could throw that cog on there if i wanted to, but I'm not in a rush and I can wait till i throw the wheelset on my back and ride over to freewheel. id rather take my time and do it properly than try to ghetto rig a wheelset like this...
|
Sound great onetwentyeight. Can't wait to see them on the bike with everything completed.
|
heard that thats why I keep my tools at home
