off topic: CRAZY stuff just happend at work.
background: i work for my college in the housing department, so i pretty much move stuff around dorm basements from one store-room to another. we take lunch from 11:00 to 12:00 and i get paid today. it's about 10:50 and i'm getting pumped to pick up my check at lunch in a few minutes.
ok, now for the story. we're moving some doors (i dunno why) from one room through a set of doors to another in the basement of a high rise dorm. i'm in the destination room setting my door down and i hear water rushing. so i think it's a toilet or something like that, then i look behind me and i see a kid i work with SOAKED, so i'm thinking "damn, rain." then i hear the water rush harder, and i look down the hall i was just down and a pipe has BURST! hundreds of gallons of water are rushing from this pipe and flooding the basement. it was crazy. so the cops show up, fire department, housekeeping, plumbers and worst of all my boss (who was about to leave to play golf). so he's pretty pissed, everyone is pretty pissed and we're all laughing because this situation is hilarious. so the water gets turned off, and there's about four inches over the entire floor. closed doors do nothing to stop water, so after the water gets all vaccumed up we have a huge task of moving all the furniture out of this basement into as many lobbies as it takes to hold the stuff. the dorms open for residents in ONE WEEK! i guess this isn't that funny, but the maintinence guys (who love the crew i work with) thought it was hilarious. seriously the best thing that happened all summer at work. |
keep this crap to yourself.

hahaha! Speaking of water and crap...
A few weeks ago one of the toilets in the men's room here at work on the 8th floor broke and flooded both the bathroom as well as part of our office and also ran down the walls of the offices directly underneath us. Luckily it was clean water and not one of the times when the guy from one of the other companies on our floor takes a dump and always seems to clog the toilet, resulting in crappy water everywhere! |
i wish something would happen at work right now. this place is dead.
|
yeah, students finished up their classes here last week so my department's office is pretty stagnant
|

Resturant here. Whishing I could sit on my ass a nd look at BF. But hey... I made 75 ****ing dollars in tips today. Time for some new bars.
|
Well, to continue with the unofficial poll...I work at a university. I'm employed/get paid to be a teaching assistant while working towards my degree. Not a bad way to earn some pretty decent money and, my books for that class are provided free of charge. Not bad at all, in my opinion! And oh yeah, it isn't a bad way to meet students of the female persuasion...

Last waitress that got him left the table with a $40 tip for 4 people. Can't wait. |
I turned 27 tables tonight to get my money. I earned it.
|
I've definitely worked 20 - 30+ tables with a good turn out, but I'd rather work bigger tables with big tips. Maybe i'm lazy, but i'm in the job for money, not pleasure.
|
Same here....
"I want the steak well done, but not burned" "I want the steak well done, but juicy" "Is your tea sweet?" " We'll just have water and an appetizer. We haven't seen each other in three years and we need to catch up" "We'll split a burger and a dessert" "Do you take checks?" " I'd like half coke and half diet coke with a slice of lime" " We're on a first date" And the table you know you are going to hate when you see them, the ones that leave everyone a bad tip every time no matter what..... |
And all servers are lazy.
|
Haha :D.
I had some lady the other day change her wine type every time I brought it out to her. Then she blamed me for bad service and decided not to tip me after have 2 entrees, 3 glasses of wine and a dessert. Bill was $48 by the end of her meal. And I still had to smile and say thanks when she left. |
