Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? why i feel like dying...

one month.

the worst part is, when the reminton broke i wasn't even riding it, i was walking it down the side of the street after picking up a package and a huge philadelphia tour bus came speeding by and knocked me over a barrier and ripped my bike under it.

i seriously have the worst luck ever.

That seriously sucks. I'm really glad that you are OK though - hit by a bus, holy crap.

What size frame do you ride?

****, did you get the info on the bus? A lot of those tour buses are housed near my work. Reed and Schuylkill. They are so damn wreckless when they drive or do anything. In the morning they speed in and out of the garage so fast I'm sure I've been almost hit a half a dozen times. ******** them.

Get out of Philly. That place sucks. Move *anywhere* else and you're luck will change.

mcatano - the creme frame was a 56 and the reminton was a 55.

red riding hood - i did get the license plate and a police report but i don't know what type of bus it was. it was a purpleish navy kind of color with gold text on it.

xthugmurderx - i had to retire from rapid because i was fresh out of bikes at that point. i got some retail job and i have a new build in the works.

but, i'm ok, i appreciate everyone's concern.

Wow. You think you have bad luck? I think that if a bus knocked you over a barrier and did that to your bike, and you're still alive.......then you have the BEST luck ever!

f*ck man....

stay safe and fill us in on where this happened.

i see those damn double decker busses everyday comin down the ben franklin. the other day one squeezed me into the very edge of the bikelane pretty good.

also, let us know if the cops ever plan to do anything... bus drivers and cabbies who are out to "teach us bikers a lesson" really need to have there licenses taken away. this ***** is dangerous enough when people are trying there best not to kill you.

and lastly, i love philly; you all can have your other cities.

i moved from philly to dc for work.
i love dc. i miss some things about philly, but some things i can definately do without.
i don't know if i'd ever move back, but i definately will visit... often.

philly bus drivers are the worse. always runnin reds, beating up apssengers, and not stopping at their stops. it sucks that your bike got f-ed, but at least you werent on it. and yeah, definately sounds like a philash.

but at least it wasnt a duck. nothing could be worse than having a duck run over your bike. they already ruin your day without even injuring you or your posessions.
