Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Double Top Tube.

so check it out. I'm in Cairo, Egypt for a semester and there are all kinds of bikes here (actually just these goofy singles speed ones, but I havent seen a derailleur all since I got here.) Anyways, I just thought I would spread the joy and ask a few questions.

What (if any) do you think are the benefits of having two top tubes?
Should I get one?!
They've gotta be dirt cheap, falafel sandwiches are 10 cents and taxi rides aren't too much more than that.
Cars here use leaded fuel, though. There are like 11,000 deaths a year in Cairo from lead poisoning (or so I was told.
its time to be a part of the solution!!!....ya know?

I don't think the guy above is actually on one of the double top-tube things, but I just wanted to show how they do messenger biking on this side of the Nile.
on their heads.
srsly, they just balance these huge things of bread on their head and cruise through downtown traffic like it ain't no thang.

Well I'm gonna try to find a bike shop and maybe I'll have one in the next few weeks.

Yeah, there arent really any traffic laws here....let alone bike lanes. The bread is delicious though, so it is an important task.

That guy wins. I don't care what i can squeeze into my messenger bag or balance on my bars, it still will not equal that.

Bikes: Old ****ed up Cannondale roadie, peice o **** Gitane as a beater, and I use my Nishiki for bike camping

double top tubes are really common with work bikes.
and bicycle delivery is much more common in places like cairo and china than in US
