I'm going to take a look at a gitane kilo (black paint, yellow decals, mid 80s, I think) in a coupla days, and I'll probably end up buying it.

Anyone know if the BB and the headset are french threaded? Also, it's got a no-name crankset, which may mean french pedal threading, if the BB is indeed french. Of course, no pedals included with this bike.

Also, is the rear end standard track (i.e. 10mm axle, 120mm spacing)

they aren't french threaded, if i recall correctly.

FWIW I've got a 70's-era Gitane "Track Junior", and it's all standard.
