Finally got my Rob Roy put together today. I need to lower the bar angle a bit I think, but other than that it should be set for the commute tomorrow. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture, but everything other than the frame is black, and I think it looks pretty sharp:


The only problem I have is that the front wheel is not centered in the fork, which makes the canti's look funny:

They work fine, and the wheel is true, just not centered. The hub and nuts on the axle (what's the real name for those?) look fine, so I'm at a loss. I guess I need to break out the calipers and figure out what is off, but I'm not sure what I'll do to fix it even if I do figure it out. Any suggestions on what to check/try?

if the wheel is true then it's a problem with the fork, i bet tony will take care of it for you.

the picture makes it look like the top tube is horizontal (parallel to the ground), can you verify? also what size is it?

A great looking bike! Glad to see you got it in. E-mail me when you're interested in going on a fixie ride. I probably won't have mine fully up and running until the middle of the week. Can't wait!

also possible, make sure the wheel is centered and true, if so it's a problem with the fork.

Nice bike! Maybe you can futz around w/ the brake pad spacers to get it more even.

I tried that... they are both at the minimum, and adding the 1mm spacer to the right (crooked) arm makes it to tight. I'm going to look at the wheel dish really close.

It's a 54", I have a 31" inseam, and it seems to fit perfectly. The TT appears almost horizontal, if it slopes it's by 1/2" or less (I *think* that my trainer stand and front wheel block make the bike level).

I got the wheel straight. Perhaps it was not seated properly in the dropouts? (Although you'd think it would have fallen into place when I test rode it). In any case, after re-installing the wheel, screwing with the spacers (you'd think that the should be identical on both sides, but who knows) and the spring tension, I got the brakes mostly aligned. Still not quite perfect, but they work just fine (brake centering on canti's and v-brakes has always been a bit of voodoo to me, sidepulls are so much easier).
