Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i only assumed he was drunk because he said he didn't remember. ( i was pretty adamant about that not being mean) I agree that it sucks. even if he were drunk that still sucks...and if i weren't a "XstraightXedgeX" kid and i said the exact same thing, would you have said that? it goes both ways. I'm sorry about the situation and the bike, that thing was gorgeous.

While I never thought that you were trying to be mean (the 'come on' would have been followed with a friendly shove and a giggle in real life) I do feel that the comment was inappropriate.

If you weren't an XstraightedgeX kid and/or you were a more exerienced biker you wouldn't have jumped to the unlikely conclusion that he was drunk. Pretty much any time you bounce your head off a car, concrete or something else hard your not going to rememeber what happened and that happens in alot more accidents then the cyclist being drunk.

first off, withnail, i apologize. sometimes my sarcasm and poking of fun gets the best of me. and dutret, i didn't realize that being an experienced bike rider meant you had to bounce your head off something...the only time i bounced my head off anything was the concrete on my bmx bike...i remember exactly what happened (and am thankful i still have all of my teeth.) I'm not on here for drama. I was poking a bit of fun to lighten a situation and (once again) the internet has sucked all emotion out of everything. I'm out, and i'd appreciate it if we could leave it at that.

i just think i remember you getting kinda preachy about drinking on here before, but i might be thinking of lumendras er whatever, but that's why i assumed you were serious as opposed to joking. use the emoticons man! i don't really care one way or another, i just roll my eyes.

Is anything on the bike salvageable? The componentry must have cost a mint! Glad you're alright and still smiling in any event.

Damn, all these good bikes getting trashed. I feel your pain man (I destroyed my sloping top-tube bike on monday in a race, along with a tooth and a helmet).
Get well soon.
