mind if i jack this a little?
what is the deal with these? why they so poular these days? seems like at NACCC's last weekend every third fixie i saw had a little front wheel. not many racers with them but tons of spectators. lots of them were the cool carbon spoked wheels too. |
didja peep that dude with the black LEADER frame? I think he had one of those too. it looked neat.
|
This would solve my tight clearance and toe overlap issues :D
|
this is confusing but, are people putting them on 700c forks or are they getting 650c forks and putting them on 700c frames.
if so, post some pics. |
700c
mmy question: what the diff between a 26 inch and 650? bigger? smaller? same? |
the 26" is about a centimeter smaller.
|
26" mtb rims are 12mm smaller than 650c rims, but 26" is also used by tufo and others to refer to their 650c road tyres.
[and wait until you get to the joys of 700c/27"/28"/29"] seriously. sod all of this. fsnl sparky |

when you put a 650 front wheel on it's a pursuit bike dude. Thats like a track bike times 10.

most people have them to do bar spins.. who doesnt like some bar spins |
When retaining the original 700c fork you can do bar spins as sloppy states.
Also there are a lot of older tri/aero spoke wheels out there in 650c due to their popularity among triathletes.... so that may explain why there are a lot being snapped up cheap. |
i got to take a pic. it's hawt!

I also recently switched to a 650 fork and front wheel. but it was already discussed in my aerospoke thread. With pics and all that jazz. But I did just repain my wheels and am working on repainting the frame. here is a pic of the sweet gold wheel now.
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...k/DSCF0987.jpg I originally wanted to make the fork/frame white. I though it would look cool with the gold wheels. But It may just look silly with my black cranks and stuff. Ill post pics when its finished. |
how do you true that wheel? that looks like a 24" er
|
Its a 650c, It just doesnt have a tire on it, and it behind the wheel in the foreground. Why would I "true" it?
|
joking of course
|
Is there any problems running 650c wheel on a 700c fork?
|
It looks wonky
