I didn't get roughed up as badly as you did, but my knees were pretty messed up for a while and the right one still aches every now and then. So watch out for your knees, I rode home from the accident and kept riding the next day, so I don't think I healed properly. Get well soon and feel better! |

end results is my fork and front wheel are kinda destroyed, my left eye is still mostly swollen shut, i'm missing large chunks of skin on my arms, my shoulders are all swollen, my tounge is swollen(i guess i bit it going down) and my knees are so swollen i can barely walk. i'm just really sharing for sympathy, also i can't really leave my apartment. additionally there was a guy, i don't remember what he looked like outside of having a pretty nice beard and his bike was grey, he helped my carry my broken bike to my friends place and offered to call an ambulance, so thank you to that guy but nothing broken, i should have gotten stitches in a few spots, we used butterfly bandages and the bleeding eventually stopped,,,,, some days you eat the bar, someday the bar eats you |
then theres the possibility you hit the wrong person, one with an agressive behavior and he will beat you with your own bike.

Any Hispanic or asian place will sell that aloe... funny, last week I railroaded a ped crossing 42nd st. 7th ave. Hit that dude so hard I knocked him to the graound and flew off my bike! Luckily both of us were ok! I think that convinced me to buy a siren..

this is why i usually ride at a pretty conservative pace down the bridges. don't really understand the need to bomb down bridges as fast as possible. i'm not saying you were, but i see it all the time.

I had some roadie (who I passed on the way up, btw) nearly take me down a few weeks ago because he felt the need to both bridge bomb, and pass me w/ about two inches to spare w/ no warning. |
do people ride on the wrong side where you guys are from? because there are a ton of hybrid-riding d-bags who think that it's safer here. they give me the "hey, we're both on bikes" smile & nod, and i tell them that they're on the wrong ****ing side..

big ups to soyboy - that sounds like a pretty nasty crash.
i haven't been over the williamsburg bridge on foot or bike, but i can tell you that the golden gate is pretty much scary as $h1t. i was over it a couple weeks back wih some friends...the place, fortunately on weekends, is bikes only on the west side of the bridge, but there are TONS and TONS and TONS of hardcore roadies going really 'effing fast. to boot, the railing is only 42" or so, and then 220 feet straight down to 52deg. shark infested waters. first time over i was nervous as all get out. the steamers below leaning on the fog horn, you can't hardly see for crap bacause the fog is so thick. pretty sweet riding though. hope you heal up quick soyboy. |

+1 that bombing down ped-crowded areas is just asking for an accident. I also find that going slow in ped-crowded areas makes it easier for me to check out the hotties. Hope you recover fully and quickly soyboy. |
