Sydney
Hi,
I will be coming to Sydney for about six months. I can bring either a track bike, or a scorcher type fixie with semi-knobby tires. Sydneysiders, which one would be more appropriate for the terrain?

Speaking of Sydney, there is a raffle in Toronto to send 2 more people to Sydney to race at the CMWC. The grrl winner won her plane ticket on a fixed gear too!
The odds are still great, 2 track framesets & a thousand bucks in other loot, all you need for a shot at it is a ticket which you can buy online here;

All the prizes include Free shipping eh? We could use a few more clickety-clicks to ensure a few more racers at CMWC.

Bikes: 11 track, one dualie and 3 ladies bikes.
'Roger' the brake. Sydney has some seriously sharp ascents and descents.
I'd take a mountain bike for the trail riding you could do.
There is an outdoor track in Tempe, and the indoor Dunc Gray Velodrome.
Melburn is better, but like most lessons in life, you've gotta learn the hard way.
Sydney has a well organised messenger crew who are keen cyclists outside of work.
The weekend after the CMWC is the Australian Singlespeed Champs - the week in between is the Bike Film Festival.
See you in Sydney!

Both my cages broke in Australia and I did not have a brake. It was sketchy as all hell. But once I got some cages and a bit of a lighter gear (thanks to Lynn of CTA =), Sydney was super fun.
In terms of hills - think Seattle/SF, or worse.
Don't forget to visit CTA and remember to keep on the left!
