Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

another silly clip question

My new fixie has major overlap, I use large clips size 12 shoe. Thought of use med. or small clips less overlap is this a really stuipd idea, or if anyone has other ideas love to hear them.

in my opinion, there isn't anything wrong with overlap. you'll get used to it!

yeah, no you want your clips to fit your feet so you're putting weight on the right part of your foot. Overlap really only affects trackstands and very slow maneuvers, practice balancing with either foot forward and the front wheel turned either way, and you can avoid the problems.

What they said, overlap is not a big deal and you get used to it pretty quickly.

Size your clips according to correct fitment = ball over spindle.

Bikes: , Jury Bike, Moto Outcast 29, Spicer standard track frame and spicer custom steel sprint frame.

you could learn to lock the rear wheel during tight turns as well to help bring it around town

you could also run shorter cranks-- 165 rather than 170, for instance, should solve the toeverlap.
