Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Peugot ss/fixed beater, Bareknuckle, Bridgestone Road, Old Raleigh beater.

Vredestein Ricorsos.

As far as I can tell, any tires that go for around $30 are for the most part similar (unless they're on sale from a higher price). They're for the most part the same as Vittoria Ricorso's and whatever else.

Bikes: Cannondale R500, Specialized Hardrock

Swear by Vredestein Fortezzas.. they're pretty much slicks, so they don't do so well in rain (right?), but I love how they're made and they seem to last forever.

Bikes: Gitane F/G Conversion, dusty Bianchi Volpe

Vittoria Zaffiro's. Fairly inexpensive, fairly durable, not one flat in 1.5 years of city riding.
