Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Steel geared. Steel Fix.

I've got a cheap ****ty trainer and it adjusts nicely to my track bike. I rarely use it for that though. I usually put the gearie on it and use the gears to adjust tension.

trainers with track wheels

question: will most trainers work properly with track wheels? that is, do they hold narrow (120mm) width rear wheels with track nuts properly?

i typically use rollers, but would like to buy one for those times when i just want to mash away without paying attention to balance, etc.

if anyone has positive experience with certain models, it would be helpful if you could throw out a few names. i'm trying to go with a lower-end model, but if don't work with track wheels, then i'll consider pricier options.
