I am going to be picking up a Schwinn Circuit frame tomorrow, and I don't like the fork that it come with. Its not even the stock one. Just something thrown on. Anyway, I was thinking about looking for a new fork for it, but i don't know where to look. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The frame is Columbus tubing, and the size is probably a 61, so the fork would need to have a long steerer tube.

I have never ordered a fork before. Do they come extra long and I have to cut it down? Or do I have to get a specific predeterminted length?

both with threaded usually you need to get one in the ballpark so the threading will be in the right place and then cut it down to the exact length when it comes

measure your steer tube length most fork makers go off of that I have never heard of or had to cut down a threaded fork but have cut down threadless

I'd imagine it's for a 27" frame? If that's the case, try a LBS and you can order a chromed steel fork for anywhere between $30-$50. Take the fork you have in now to make certain of the length and the threading.

I can guarantee it's most likely English threading, but if it's thrown on from another bike like you mentioned there's the very off chance in which it's French. ****ing French.

Hit your local LBS, they may have something cheap. Most threaded steel forks at the shops I visit are like $50 or so. Generic works.

actually the frame is set up for 700c wheels. at least from the little information i found about the bike. I got the frame with a fork, but its some heavy as cromoly crap. I will check around and see what I come up with.

that sakae fork from NYC Bikes. Is that aluminum? it doesn't say the material type, but the title says "alloy" anyone have any ideas? for $19.00 that sounds like a steal.

99% of the time, "Alloy" = AL.

any issues with running an aluminum fork on my steel frame? I would assume not, probably just a slightly harsher ride. I will give em a call and see what they say.

I just installed a pair of those NYC aluminum forks on an old Raleigh 3 speed frame,They are really nice forks for the money.

all sakae litage series is aluminum
keep in mind they are road forks if you have a track frame it is not going to handle or ride as well as it could

The frame was formerly a road bike. This is going to be another conversion. I think it will be alright if i go that route.
