Is that the bike that the guy started a thread about so he could brag about how much he was spending on parts?

Can't be used for FG (as the seller indicates) unless you want a screwed up chainline or have an adpater. This has freewheel threads made for a 7sp/8sp spacing I believe. Good find though.

Just my size, sorry I missed it. Nah, I wouldn't convert it, although you could, I'd hang a nice Record/Chorus mix on that and practice saying "Ciao, bambini!"

Schwinn World Sport

How capable is this for a SS conversion?

andre nickatina 07-15-07 01:09 AM

friend's first bike was converted from that frame. heavy, gas pipe-like, and sketchy. go for it if you're trying to do a conversion on the cheap.

SugarPILL 07-15-07 11:44 AM

uhhh, am I reading this right.... I thought njs was expensive?

but a hi-lo campy hub takes the cake.

what do you mean gas pipe-like and sketchy?

is it difficult to convert (moreso than other cheaper road bikes)?

well, his particular setup was sketchy but that doesn't have that much to do with the frame.

as far as gas-pipey, yes, the frame is pretty heavy. if that doesn't both you, go for it.
