the fact that it's exactly my size makes it even more maddening that i don't have that kind of money.

Hey, i have a friend in florida looking for his first fixie. What do you all think of this?
The saddle obviously needs a change, but other then that it looks pretty good to me, but i'm quite the noob myself so i could be wrong.
Thanks.

capdeville1 05-17-08 01:44 PM

nateintokyo 05-18-08 10:34 AM

offer 'em $300 and you've got yourself a deal

TDHK 05-18-08 10:53 AM

Nate,
thanks for the input but do you think that it has resell value? What could it be resold at? I'm not really trying to ride ( I think)

Thoughts?

I'm a newbie. Looking for a bike that will serve me primarily as an urban commuter (2mi trip to school). I'm somewhat interested in learning to ride fixed, but want a singlespeed for safety/ease.

There is threading on the non-gear side of the rear hub, so based on what I understand, I think it is a flip flop hub.

nateintokyo 05-18-08 07:10 PM

If it is indeed one of the wonderful and slightly bizarre creations of 3Rensho, it has resale value. You can prove that by buying it ;)

If I were local to it I'd would probably pick it up at $600, but might try to haggle a bit. $300 would be a dream. It could easily sell for much more, but you'd have to find the right person.

it's a fair deal. a rob roy should be nice for commuting as there is lots of clearance etc..

my lbs was selling this thing for 300$ (red)
i was gonna buy it for my road bike but i don't like 27" wheels and i thought it'd be weird to change the wheel to 700c and i had to spend more money...

trons 05-19-08 11:01 AM

are you sure about that? i would think a 88 cannondale would have 700c's...

Igneous Faction 05-19-08 05:59 PM

That Cannondale definitely has 700c wheels. Reasonably nice ones at that, I'm sure.
