Miyata One Ten Singlespeed $175
http://houston.craigslist.org/bik/717322208.html Seems a little high for a single speed, I'd probably ride it as is unti I could get a 2 or 3 speed crank. Unless I get addicted to single speeding about... |
Recommend a counter offer for decent rideable shape as the ad seems to show?

<'((((>< ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ <"((((>< doesnt that mean here fishy fishy? counter offer... umm i dunno 1/3 of the price? no really... 125$ tops. If those are new tires then what the f*ck do you call vintage? new tires + chain + cables will cost you what 40$ ? and the guy gives you a choice of cogs 16, 17 or 22... single speed road bike with spacers on it... ummm i dunno sounds like he/she is reselling the bike for the price of the parts + cost they paid for the bike second hand... http://houston.craigslist.org/bik/715529571.html better bike in your area with better components and looks like it comes from a semi-serious rider. Plus its a 58cm Offer this guy the same price as the miyata and then buy a conversion kit + spacers and voila. Better singlespeed for the money. |
A bit of a new-b here, so the help is much appreciated.
Which of these two should i buy for a conversion? and why? http://denver.craigslist.org/bik/717341322.html or http://denver.craigslist.org/bik/717713984.html Thanks. |
both are nice, I like the univega more because it seems to be better kept. mind you the khs looks just as good with nice bells and whistles on it... only thing that worries me on the khs iare the tires and rims. everything else seems to be very clean. I don't like this though "it has the cut road bike bars and the long dropouts that would make a great single speed conversion." The person is fishing for you because they know you want a fixed gear / SS bike... Again... price on both is great, if you can afford both get both.
Make one a project bike to restore into a vintage road bike and the other into your conversion bike. |

Meant to ask: Good buy or goodbye? Are the upgrades good? Pretty newbie here; sorry. |
the upgrades certainly aren't anything special, but it's definitely worth 400 if it is in as good as condition as that picture shows.
|
650c HED 3 wheelset. $400, that's about all that's described though :P
