Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? aaaugh, i want this so bad. 24" wheels; suitable for someone 5'4" - 5'6", I'd imagine. The big downside is that I asked the seller about the tubing and he responded "tange, i think."

Warning: geared, and should not be converted:

Is this too good to be true? The components are nameless and it's not even clear that the pictures are from the bike being sold but still...

thats a sh*tty bike from repeated reports but for 100$ why the f*ck not?
for 100$ I think I'm gonna buy it. I have been wanting to try fixed, and for 100$ it doesn't seem like much of a loss.

In any case it's good to know that it doesn't have to be stolen. And yes, it's pretty cheap even for cheap parts might be good for some spare parts.

Is this worth it?

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/733789775.html

I've never owned a fixed gear, but I live in san francisco and my beater 10 speed (70's nishiki) just got hit and may have seen it's last rodeo. I'm willing to put in some money for something nice, but is this worth it or should i take the time and build something myself?

Thanks

Mark

A Dutch guy is selling his Schauff, great collectors item:

https://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?...tml%3Fxref%3D1

Translation:
offered for adoption: Schauff Aero time trial trackbike
construction year 1980
size:56 ct
parts: Campagnolo and Dura-Ace, 51*16
Columbus frame
crancklenght: 167.5 mm
Cinelli saddle,frontwheel is not original
Look on the site of schauff .de for exact description, it is an unique bicycle. According to Schauff this is the frame of which they knew the present existence.

Used for a world hour record attack (women) The words on the small picture say: Danke Schauff! Petra Stegherr

Price: New RIH (dutch classic brand) trackbike to my wishes, a devotee knows what i'm talking about.

I know there will be people who say: 'Oh well, i ride it every day as my grocery bike"

I like this and want it. I like Univega fixies and wanna upgrade the hell outta it.

Craigslist find. First Fixie. I hate asking the "what's this worth question", so I won't. Instead, I'm asking for a bargaining chip. I'm meeting this guy this tonight to check this out. Personally I think he's asking too much: $380.

Not too much info in the way of comps, just that it has new Alex Rims and a AlexRim rear flip flop. And he's going to throw in the freewheel. The seat and handlebars have to go. I like the green hub though. I think I'll be able to get him down once I find out about the crappy components. I'm just such a bad negotiator.

hey i need some help buying a bike, this person is selling a T1 for $1750 (Aussie dollars, pretty similar to American dollars atm) at https://www.bikeexchange.com.au/bikes/show/100008592 but imo that is wayy too expensive, how can i bargain with him without being rude about it?

Ive already asked for pics and more details on the bike.

(oh and im 5'8, and the frame is 56cm, im guessing thats a little big but rideable. But after looking at the geometry, the top tube length is 54.3cm, which seems fine for my height. is this bike too big?)

Are you going to race that bike? If so then pay up the money and be the end of it... Or get one here in North America. Or get one built for the same amount you would be dropping on that. What does your mind tell you? It usually is never wrong.
