No really, that's totally what I meant. Only guys are into bikes, clowns like really small cars and all jocks have tribal tattoos. Oh yeah, and all Asians are bad drivers... PM me, I'll clue you in on some additional "oppressive" wisdom.

Don't worry, I'll get you up to speed and we can oppress together in no time.

I'm going back to sleep.

I don't remember if it's Dosh or Ryand that just got the bianchi, but this would be perfect on it if you end up getting that stem.

YES!

I'm going for it. Not calling dibs though, so if anyone else wants it go at it.

Ze sexy.

So...is there an end to the eBay insanity? Check these two auctions for proof that it still exists.

The front wheel went for 300 bucks more than the rear, naturally to someone with a large pocketbook coupled with a newly minted passion for fixed gears. ~$1,050 for a 10 year old wheelset, a comparable version of which could be had for much much less.

also purchased recently by fixieaid...

Campagnolo + NOS = high dollars.

Does that mean I should flip my cryogenically frozen corpse of Tullio? Think about it, you could make him your slave and pump out NOS Cambio Corsa derailleurs right from your basement.

DoshKel 02-11-07 04:24 PM

Dudes got the monies... thats for sure.

Threads like this aren't helping things.

I, for one, would be a little upset if a bike I was watching got posted here and five extra people came in to run the price up.

People that are looking for bikes and parts have already found the items themselves. I guess I just don't see the point in advertising them to the people who aren't REALLY in the market.

The purpose of this thread is to discuss interesting eBay/CL items. If this thread didn't exist, you would see multiple threads about "Check out this Cinelli on eBay" or "Some guy is trying to get $1500 for a Bareknuckle on my local Craigslist!"... This thread was gone for a while and that is what happened. So now the thread just gets all those discussions into one place.

Also, it's not really advertising for anyone. If you are looking for a bike and know enough to be on Bike Forums, you probably also know what eBay and CL are. The only case I could see this thread driving up prices are if the item was in the wrong catagory (so a normal search didn't bring it up). There are thousands more people watching eBay track frame auctions than watching this thread. A few people on this board saying "sweet pista!" isnt going to really change the outcome of an auction. I have sold a lot of things on eBay over the past year or two, some have come up in this thread (not posted by me) some have not... I haven't seen any difference in price.

Meh. That's the free market for you. ebay is pretty much useless for anything but entertainment anymore anyway.

Yay! I scored a crappy 130mm spaced disc-compatible wheel for my Redline ss project for 28 clams. Now I have to decide if I want to just build up a disc front with the old 32h Wobler I have kicking around or spend actual money on new rim(s). Probably the former since this is supposed to be a budget project and it seems silly not to kill the old rear wheel first.
