Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

ok you asked for it!

FLYNN is the girl with the moustache on the left, and KU is the racoon boy on the right (they are about 5 months old here)

typical FG kitties, born in the laundry room of my apt, from their feral mom, and rescued from the animal control officer by yours truly.

after shots, licensing, spay/neuter, micro chip implant, and a general check up, these two cost more than a bike!

and worth every penny

good thread

This is Sprocket. He's actually named for the Fraggle Rock dog, and not bikes. I hadn't really gotten into biking two years ago when I adopted him, but I think his name is pretty approriate now. I wish I had some pics of him biking with me, but you guys will just have to deal with us prepping to go skiing instead.sprocket001.jpg

Ah, Ein. My brother is thinking of getting a corgi and naming it Ein. Either that or a swedish vallhund named Jester. He's super otaku so the Ein thing would be really appropriate. Corgis are such great dogs. I kind of want to get one so Sprocket has a playmate.

I'm asian so people kinda expect that kind of crap from me. Or they expect me to eat him. They really are the best. I dream of owning a farm full of the little fur logs. All of the corgis I've met have been the sweetest things ever. Plus they're herding dogs so that makes bike rides/chases with them fun.

OK, I think this is interesting (maybe no one else will)

This is my dog, Sprocket.

This is Sprocket from Fraggle Rock.

And this is my girlfriend's dog Abby

She didn't realize how much her dog looked like the dog from fraggle rock until I brought it up when we had just met, though her nickname for Abby was "muppet dog"

My brother's other favorite name choice is a Japanese word meaning "emergency rations"

My uncle said he ate dog once when he was in the military. He said it wasn't terrible, but it had a very strong flavor and was a bit stringy. Gross.
